Domestic, London
Set within a North London home, this project was driven by a client with a clear and confident design vision. Drawing on eclectic architectural influences and a love of mid-century modern interiors, the brief called for doors that felt expressive rather than conventional.
The resulting bespoke design centres around an asymmetric composition, combining clear and fluted glass to introduce depth, texture and visual rhythm.
The doors sit between the lounge and kitchen-diner, where large-format glazing creates definition while maintaining a strong sense of connection, keeping the space light, open and fluid.
A single door with an over-panel was specified alongside the fixed glazing, detailed with 180-degree hinges that allow the door to fold fully back against the glazed panel. This enables free movement between spaces, removing visual and physical obstruction when open.
Delicate, minimal push–pull handles and a discreet magnetic stay-closed system further enhance the practicality, offering effortless, informal manoeuvrability without compromising on design.
Finished in RAL 1001 (Beige) with a subtle textured coating, the steelwork was carefully chosen to complement the warm wood accents of the kitchen cabinetry, demonstrating how a considered neutral can feel both intentional and refined.
When individuality, considered detailing and confident design choices are paired with iSteel’s know-how, the result is something special.
