Set within a large, architecturally impressive home in the Wirral, this project is a masterclass in how bespoke steel doors can elevate both everyday living and special occasions. The homeowners first approached iSteel earlier in the year to commission a set of textured bronze bi-parting steel doors for their main living space. Designed to meet in the centre and also fold fully back, the doors allow the entire opening to be cleared, perfect for entertaining and large family gatherings. At Christmas, the effect is particularly striking: a beautifully dressed tree, soft festive lighting and bold, joy-filled furniture pieces framed effortlessly by slim bronze profiles and expansive glazing.
So pleased were the clients with the original installation that they invited iSteel back to create a second set of bespoke glazed double steel doors, again finished in the same textured bronze, again paired with elegant brass knurled handles. Consistency was key, the new doors needed to complement the earlier bi-folding system while holding their own in a very different architectural setting.
These doors now sit at the heart of the home’s dramatic double-height entrance hall. A floating oak staircase with glazed balustrades rises alongside them, creating a striking interplay of materials: warm timber, clear glass and finely detailed steel. Together, they form an unforgettable first impression, an entrance designed not just to welcome, but to impress.
