The iSteel SLIM Internal glazed steel door and screen system was developed to offer an innovative alternative to the widely used W20 profile.
iSteel’s SLIM profile has a similar overall aesthetic at first glance but upon closer inspection is a more refined, sharp and contemporary product for a discerning clientele that are looking for an elegant modern day classic.
The beauty of an iSteel product is it’s versatility! Depending on your design requirements, SLIM can be styled to appear minimalistic, art deco, Georgian, industrial and historical.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN iSTEEL & OTHER SYSTEMS
iSteel SLIM
iSteel’s SLIM steel glazing system was intentionally developed to address what we feel are W20 design compromises. Our outer frame measures 20mm and cross bar details 15mm which creates a light and elegant look, beautifully framing the glass without overpowering it.
SLIM is intentionally contemporary, engineered to appear light, crisp and clean – not intended to be a direct comparison to W20, iSteel is a modern looking Steel and Glazing alternative where there is a lack of it.
Not only does SLIM look incredible but the build quality, materials used and customer service that is associated with it are second to none.
W20
Traditionally internal steel framed glazing has used a W20 system
with the slimmest option available having an overall outer frame depth of 43mm utilising a ‘T’ shaped profile. Another characteristic
of W20 is the cross bar detail which is almost 30mm and can become overtly domineering, detracting from the lightness of the glass.
W20 has its place in the market and is suitable for ‘purists’ and
those wishing to achieve an historical look, but when compared
to iSteel SLIM has larger sightlines and a complicated construction, ultimately compromising the aesthetic.
