Set within a striking new-build home in Fixby, Huddersfield, this project demonstrates how bespoke steel doors can add character, structure and purpose to a contemporary interior. Commissioned to introduce architectural interest to what was effectively a blank canvas, iSteel designed and installed a large internal steel sliding door system that separates the entrance hall from the sitting room while perfectly framing views through to the garden beyond.

The centre-opening glazed steel doors slide neatly behind fixed side panels, creating a wide, uninterrupted walkway when open. Unlike traditional hinged doors, the sliding design preserves valuable floor space and provides greater flexibility for furniture layouts, making it an ideal solution for modern open-plan living.

 Finished in a slim-profile steel design with clear glazing, the doors maximise natural light while maintaining a subtle sense of separation between spaces. A concealed top-hung system eliminates the need for a floor track, allowing the herringbone flooring to flow seamlessly from room to room without interruption.
