Heritage Framed Steel Doors, Uppingham
Heritage Framed in Steel – Bespoke Doors in Uppingham
Set within a historic former school building in Uppingham, this unique residential conversion blends character, texture and architectural detail.
A returning client invited iSteel back to deliver a set of bespoke steel and glass French doors, designed to complement the building’s original fabric, from exposed oak beams to rough stone walls and wide oak plank flooring. The honest materiality of steel and glass sits naturally within the space, enhancing rather than competing with its heritage.
A pair of FD30 fire-rated double steel doors separates the hall from the dining room, allowing light to flow freely between spaces while creating a defined threshold. The large-format design frames the dining room beyond, drawing the eye through and capturing views of the interior and natural light from the windows.
A considered addition to a home rich in history and a continuation of a valued relationship built on trust, craftsmanship and shared vision.
