Period Property Renovation, Manchester
As part of the internal alterations and modernisation of this period house in Didsbury, Manchester, iSteel was commissioned to design and install bespoke Deco-style double steel doors with glazed side panels.
The brief was to open up the connection between the kitchen and entrance hall while retaining architectural definition. Our slimline steel doors create a striking visual axis from the hallway, offering a tantalising glimpse into the inviting kitchen beyond.
The design beautifully frames the statement island, which becomes a focal point, particularly in the evening when enhanced by carefully positioned mood lighting.
Engineered with 180-degree hinges, the double doors fold fully back against the fixed glazed side panels. This allows the space to function as open-plan when desired, improving ground floor circulation while maintaining the option of separation.
This installation demonstrates how bespoke internal steel doors can transform a traditional Manchester home, preserving character while introducing light, flow and contemporary elegance.
